Communications Manager

Our client, a leading global financial services firm transforming the retail investing landscape through a digitized brokerage and wealth management platform, is seeking a Communications Manager to join their U.S. team and manage North American comms. They are driving innovation across the financial sector, shaping the future of investing through technology, strategy, and market insight.
This role offers the opportunity to shape and amplify the firm’s brand narrative across top-tier financial media, digital channels, and partnerships. The ideal candidate is a strategic communicator with a passion for finance and technology, skilled in managing external communications, driving visibility, and engaging key stakeholders. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to ensure consistent messaging and elevate the company’s presence in the U.S. market.
Role
- Drive day-to-day media relations and shape the brand’s narrative, with emphasis on finance and fintech audiences.
- Cultivate and leverage U.S. media connections to independently pitch stories, secure coverage, and advance strategic positioning.
- Partner with senior leadership to prepare for interviews and events—develop key messages, ensure consistent alignment, and represent the brand across podcasts, webinars, conferences, and sponsorships.
- Manage ongoing press relations directly, engaging external agencies only for major campaigns or initiatives.
- Work cross-functionally to surface story opportunities and craft press releases, media briefs, Q&As, and thought-leadership content.
- Respond swiftly to media inquiries, mitigating risks and supporting crisis communications when needed.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage, delivering insights to optimize communications strategy and impact.
Requirements
- Proven experience with knowledge of U.S. PR or media relations, including experience in financial or fintech communications; background in online brokerages, wealth-tech, or investment platforms is a plus.
- Strong network of relationships with U.S. financial and business media; proven track record of pitching and securing high-impact coverage.
- Deep knowledge of financial markets, products, and regulatory environment, with the ability to distill complex topics for broader audiences.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; adept at coaching executives and supporting live media engagements.
- Highly organized and proactive, with the ability to balance multiple campaigns and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong grasp of the U.S. financial media landscape, with a sharp eye for compelling stories and potential reputational risks.
- Strong curiosity about the VC and startup ecosystem, with a keen interest in climate innovation.
- Familiarity with tools such as Notion, Mailchimp, Trello, Webflow, LinkedIn, or Luma is advantageous.
