Communications Lead

Our client, a rapidly growing technology company transforming communication in healthcare, is seeking a Communications Lead on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract (FTC) to manage and elevate their external communications strategy. The company is driving innovation and improving healthcare outcomes through technology, connecting people and processes in new and impactful ways.
This role offers the chance to shape the brand narrative, strengthen media presence, and engage key stakeholders across healthcare and technology. The ideal candidate is a strategic communicator with experience in media relations, digital storytelling, and thought leadership, ready to partner with senior leaders to enhance visibility and impact in a dynamic, mission-driven sector.

Role
- Lead media relations: Draft press releases, statements, and pitches to secure coverage and ensure the company is consistently positioned as a thought leader in its sector.
- Prepare spokespeople: Coach and brief internal experts for interviews, panels, and events, ensuring clear and consistent messaging for key announcements.
- Manage crisis communications: Respond to media enquiries, draft statements, and handle sensitive situations to protect and maintain the company’s reputation.
- Measure and optimise PR impact: Track media coverage, engagement, and campaign performance, using insights to refine strategies and align communications with business objectives.
- Oversee podcast production: Manage all aspects of the company podcast, including guest sourcing, scheduling, recording, editing, and episode publishing.
- Create supporting content: Develop written, video, and social media materials to amplify podcast episodes and other communications initiatives, ensuring alignment with brand messaging.
- Drive thought leadership and brand content: Produce articles, newsletters, reports, and speaking materials, collaborating with internal experts to establish the company as an industry authority.
- Manage LinkedIn and digital presence: Plan, create, and optimise LinkedIn content, support internal teams in sharing and engaging with posts, and monitor analytics to maximise visibility, engagement, and influence.
Requirements
- Strategic PR and communications experience: Hands-on experience shaping and executing communications strategies in tech, SaaS, B2B, or healthtech environments, with the ability to adapt messaging for complex or regulated sectors.
- Agency insight and execution: Experience working in a fast-paced PR or communications agency, with a strong grasp of media relations, campaign delivery, and driving projects forward efficiently.
- Campaign impact: History of designing and delivering communications initiatives that achieve measurable results and enhance brand reputation.
- Advanced writing and messaging: Able to simplify complex ideas into clear, persuasive content for diverse audiences, across multiple platforms and formats.
- Media engagement: Skilled at identifying story opportunities, building relationships with journalists, and pitching content that resonates and gains coverage.
- Project management and collaboration: Experienced in leading multi-team projects, balancing priorities, and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
- Executive-level communication: Confident advising senior leaders and executives on strategic messaging and communications decisions.
- Creative problem-solving: Innovative, persistent, and detail-oriented, capable of generating new ideas, overcoming challenges, and turning concepts into actionable initiatives.
