Marketing Manager

A Berlin-based deep tech company developing proprietary sensing technology is seeking a Marketing Manager to build and own its marketing function across defence, critical infrastructure, and autonomous mobility markets. Founded by industry veterans and backed by European technology investors, the business has built a perception platform that takes a fundamentally different approach to conventional radar architecture. With a growing team and an increasing number of customer conversations across government, aerospace, and industrial sectors, this role will help establish the company's go-to-market function as it scales internationally.
Role
- Develop and execute a marketing strategy that positions the company's technology platform clearly and consistently across its target verticals, including defence, perimeter security, and autonomous systems
- Build and manage the company's content programme, producing technical and commercial materials including white papers, case studies, product briefs, and thought leadership for specialist and general audiences
- Own the company's brand consistency across all external touchpoints, including website, sales materials, video content, and event collateral
- Lead the planning and execution of the company's presence at industry events, trade shows, and conferences, coordinating logistics, materials, and stakeholder participation, including international travel
- Work closely with engineering and technical teams to extract and translate complex product capabilities into accessible, persuasive narratives for diverse audiences
- Coordinate with the external PR resource to ensure media activity is aligned with broader marketing output and company messaging
- Support business development and investor communications through targeted outreach materials, pitch decks, and supporting content
- Track and report on marketing performance, using insight to refine channel strategy and prioritise activity with the highest commercial impact
- Monitor competitor positioning and market developments to inform messaging strategy and identify opportunities for differentiation
Requirements
- Proven marketing experience, ideally gained within a deep tech, hardware, defence, or industrial technology business or agency
- Demonstrated ability to translate highly technical product capabilities into clear, credible marketing communications for both specialist and non-specialist audiences
- Experience managing content programmes, digital channels, and event participation, ideally within a scaling or early-stage business
- Comfortable working directly with engineers and technical stakeholders to draw out content and ensure accuracy across all marketing output
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality materials across a range of formats and audiences
- Familiarity with the defence, dual-use technology, critical infrastructure, or autonomous systems sectors is advantageous
- Understanding of complex B2B selling environments is a plus
- Comfortable working alongside external communications support, with an awareness of how PR and media activity connects to broader marketing output
- A generalist mindset with the ability to manage across multiple workstreams, prioritise effectively, and operate with a degree of autonomy in a fast-moving environment
- Fluency in English is essential
- Willingness and ability to travel, both domestically and internationally
