Director of Communications

Salary: £110,000 - £180,000
Job type: Permanent
Status: Live

A globally recognised venture capital fund backing some of Europe’s most ambitious technology founders is seeking a Director of Communications to lead its regional strategy. With a reputation built on long-term partnerships and category-defining companies, the firm plays an influential role across the technology ecosystem. As its presence and profile continue to evolve, this role will shape how the fund communicates with founders, media and the wider market — strengthening brand authority while supporting the next generation of breakout businesses.

Role

  • Define and execute a comprehensive European communications strategy across earned and owned channels.
  • Lead integrated brand and campaign activity in close partnership with investors and portfolio founders / CEOs.
  • Advise portfolio companies on positioning, messaging and media strategy, including high-stakes milestones such as major launches, transactions and public listings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier international and regional media.
  • Prepare senior stakeholders for media interviews, speaking engagements and thought leadership opportunities.
  • Partner closely across content, events and broader brand initiatives to ensure a consistent and differentiated narrative.
  • Drive a cohesive cross-regional communications approach in collaboration with global colleagues.
  • Manage and optimise relationships with external agencies and specialist partners.
  • Elevate the external profile of senior investors, particularly those earlier in their public journeys.
  • Identify strategic communications opportunities in emerging European markets and design plans to support expansion.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience across communications, PR, content and campaign strategy within technology, venture or high-growth environments.
  • Strong understanding of the European startup ecosystem and curiosity about venture capital and company building.
  • Proven ability to craft compelling narratives across multiple formats and channels.
  • Track record of advising senior, high-performing stakeholders with credibility and sound judgement.
  • Experience working across multiple international markets.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset, with a structured approach to prioritisation and execution.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative, low-ego working style.
  • High standards, strong ownership mentality and comfort operating in ambiguity.
  • Commercially aware, intellectually curious and motivated to build enduring brand equity.
