Head of Communications

Our client, a pioneering scale-up at the intersection of technology, science, and space exploration, is looking to hire a world-class German speaking Head of Communications to build the function from the ground up. Backed by leading investors and driven by a mission to make the vast possibilities of space more accessible, the organisation is space exploration tech to drive exploration and collaboration.

Role
- Strategic Communications
- Develop and execute communication strategies that effectively convey the company’s mission, vision, and technological capabilities.
- Craft and disseminate key messages across diverse channels to ensure consistency with organizational objectives.
- Build and nurture relationships with media outlets, industry thought leaders, and key stakeholders to drive positive media coverage and influence public perception.
- Manage crisis communications and implement forward-looking strategies to mitigate potential PR challenges.
- Lead the creation of high-quality content such as press releases, blog articles, whitepapers, case studies, and presentations.
- Ensure all content is scientifically sound, engaging, and accessible to varied audiences.
- Partner with public policy and government relations teams to align communications with regulatory and legislative agendas.
- Marketing Leadership
- Design and lead marketing campaigns to enhance brand visibility and engage core audiences, including prospective clients, partners, and the public.
- Oversee digital marketing initiatives—including social media, SEO, content strategy, and online advertising—in collaboration with a digital communications specialist.
- Collaboration with Public Policy & Government Relations
- Create communication materials that support advocacy and engagement with government entities.
- Event Management
- Organize and execute events including press briefings, industry conferences, product launches, and investor meetings.
- Serve as a company representative at industry events, trade shows, and public engagements.
Requirements
- Proven senior-level communications experience within the technology, preferably deep tech sectors, with a track record of building and scaling high-impact brands.
- Strong strategic mindset and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong experience in being a senior advisor and influencer when working with high functioning, world-class decision makers and stakeholders
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, with a flair for translating complex technical content into clear, compelling messaging.
- Demonstrated experience in top tier international media relations, public relations, and crisis management.
- Proficient in digital marketing platforms and techniques, including social media and content marketing.
- Strong team player with a collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluent German and English language proficiency
